BMW Motorrad USA recommends the Schuberth C3 as the helmet of choice for riders of the BMW K 1600 GT/L equipped with the BMW Audio System with Bluetooth® connectivity

BMW Riders certainly understand the connection to Schuberth and their innovative, German-engineered products.  Now there is even more reason for BMW riders to couple that with the German helmet; the Schuberth C3 and C3W are the only helmets recommended by BMW Motorrad USA for use with the BMW Audio System with Bluetooth® for the K 1600 GT/L and  R 1200 RT.

The BMW Motorrad Communication System is comprised of a small controller with 3 buttons that attaches to the outside of the helmet.   A microphone, battery pack , speakers and electronic controller  (installed inside the helmet between the protective EPS liner and the helmet shell) complete the system.

The Schuberth C3 (and C3W for women) is the only helmet in which the BMW Motorrad Communication System can be installed without modification of the EPS liner or the shell. An independent testing facility has verified that the installed BMW Motorrad Communication System does not affect DOT compliance of C3 and C3W helmets.

The BMW Motorrad Communication System is proprietary to BMW products, so it is important for K 1600 GT/L and R 1200 RT owners to use this system for full functionality. Other Bluetooth® communicators (like Schuberth’s own SRC-System) will connect with the BMW Navigator and other components, but not interact fully with the on-board system. Please see the diagram to learn about the benefit of using the BMW Motorrad Communication system.
